Death of dream

“Ex CM Sindh Abdullah Shah was big fan of this area” Mr Gul Baig Noohani told us about Baddo Mountain with full passion. We (I, Dear Shahnawaz Chachar and some other friends) were reached there while ago to attend yearly Musical Night of Shah Abdul Latif Bhitae’s Kalam arranged by him (Gul Baig Noohani). Bado mountain is a scenic hill side if developed it should be locally great tourist place. Bado Jabal situated 3500ft high above sea level, is part of the Khirthar range that spread along the border of Sindh and Balochistan, close to the wildlife sanctuary National Khirthar Park. Baddo Mountain mostly remained cold. I am from Sukkur northern area of Sindh and we are living in extremely hot weather, however, as we reached over there on 27/08/2016 we felt like we were sitting in fully air conditioned room. Several Neem Trees were planted over there which were adding extra beauty in that area.  Mr Noohani continuing his talk further told us that “whenever Shah Sahib (Abdullah Shah ex CM Sindh) used to visited his village, he visited here too, it was his dream to develop this are as tourist place, in his era roads were constructed, long pipe line of water laded down and arrangements made for electricity, but very sorry to say all efforts never finalized and now you see everything is being destroyed and in this way the dream of Saen Abdullah Shah also died with Shah Sahib.” I saw big sorrow on his face as he lose billions property.  Vicinity of the area was surrounded with mountains, trees, bushes and some constructed buildings nearby. “What is that?” I inquire about half finished building “that is TB hospital but as all other things this was too not finalized” he replied with heavy heart. After little pause I saw foggy hope on his face as he informed us “Now one ray of hope again sparked when Mr Murad Ali Shah son of Abdullha Shah took charge of CM House Sindh and ordered to construct hospital building once again.” But for me one billion’s question was that “whether Mr Murad Ali Shah sitting Chief Minister of Sindh might continue the project and order for redevelopment work to fulfill his father’s dream?”

I think not only Abdullah Shah dreamt but local people also dreamed about their bright future after explored great amount of Gas nearby Bhit Jabal and adjoining areas. However, we didn’t witness any such development. Common people living miserable life they never provided any basic human facilities i.e. gas, roads, bridges, employment, school, hospital, hygienic drinking water, houses etc. Gas companies traditionally settled matters with local powerful Sardars and Waderas by providing them handsome amount of bribes in different shapes. For me big death of dream is not of that Saen Abdullah Shah but the common peoples.

Mostly in moon soon rainy season people of entire area being seized by mountainous waterfalls especially at Jhangara and at Bajara. We experienced it personally too. On second day way to home there were thunder rain started and mountainous waterfalls cut road and we arrested entire day over there for nothing. However, this is routine for local common people to suffer. Two over head bridges on raod at Jhangara and Bajara is not big deal for government but for people of Sindh such type of simple development projects are to cross Himalayan Mountain, so let us tell you that Dream for Bright future by people of Sindh also dead…No body talk about that we only listen slogans G A Bhutto …Sab pe bharee Zardari.

While googling I found more information regarding Baddo Jabbal if you are interested kindly read following passage which is matter of copy paste or click on link given bellow.

“Baddo Jabbal is Located some 320 km away from the Karachi, the hills receive chilly winds at nights. While the hills are surrounded by arid mountains, there are green pastures near the hills, and are accompanied by streams during the rainy season. There is also a smooth path for scaling heights, which was recently discovered, offering tourists a greater attraction.
The weather is cool and pleasant, and visitors can enjoy their nights away from the scorching heat, prolonged load shedding and heat waves which have become the norm is towns and cities. However, several wildlife species including mammals, reptiles, birds and insects have started disappearing from the hills. There are small plants and grasses that add to the scenic beauty for visitors, otherwise scattered trees have been drying out due to the shortage of rains.
There is a primary school, constructed by Bhitt Rural Support Program (BRSP), a non government organization. BRSP is also working to provide basic facilities to the people of Bado Jabal.
In order to maintain the beauty of their land, locals have asked visitors to bring with them seeds of plants and grains so that more of those can be planted. However, people have been complaining of the low-intensity rains during monsoons, which have caused the underground water levels to decrease, forcing local communities to travel several miles to fetch water from natural fountains and artificial ponds that the Bhitt Rural Support Program (BRSP) have set up at different locations.
There are the large deposits of best quality marble commercially known as golden and coral marbles along the hills. Two oil companies working in the area are supporting BRSP to run community development projects. Centuries-old Kai caves are popular tourist attractions, but owing to the non-availability of transport and other facilities, ordinary visitors are unable to frequent these caves.
In the past, the former PPP-led provincial government under late chief minister Syed Abdullah Shah had shown an interest to develop schemes, including Chest Diseases Hospital, a police training center and rest houses at Bado Jabal and the scenic Kai caves. In fact, he had even launched a few projects but due to the apathetic approach of successive governments, these schemes were discarded without being completed.”

Note: I am writing detailed article/travelogue of this tour also in Sindhi so kindly be patient for more few days….
